Gordon McDougall is an international theatre director and academic. He was twice nominated as Best Director by London critics and has served as Artistic Director of the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh, the Stables Theatre, Manchester, the Oxford Playhouse Company and the Citadel Theatre, Edmonton. His theatre work has been seen all over Britain, in the Far East, the Near East, Europe, the US, Canada and Central and South America and his television work has been syndicated world-wide. McDougall is also an academic of international repute who has taught at eleven universities in the UK, the US, Canada and Italy. He has been Full Professor and Visiting Professor at British and American universities and has worked for several years at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and served for six years as Principal of the Guildford School of Acting. For three years he was Visiting Professor at the University of Surrey and for nearly ten years he was a producer and director for Granada Television. Gordon McDougall currently writes and hosts a daily poetry program Poem for Today for National Public Radio stations. He is available for directing, teaching and consultancy work in Britain, Europe and the United States.
