Gordon  McDougall  has hosted and reviewed for NPR arts programs.

In November 2000 his play Wystan was broadcast by BBC Radio 3, starring Paul Scofield.  The play presented a kaleidoscope of Auden’s life and thought from the perspective of his New York apartment in 1963.  It used the poetry and published philosophical musings of the poet.  Wystan was featured on Pick of the Week and repeated in August 2002.

Since January 2004 McDougall has written and hosted a daily program Poem for Today for National Public Radio stations.  Each show features one or two poems set in the context of an event connected with the day. The aim is to widen the audience that enjoys poetry as a vital medium of communication, revelation and solace.

Now in its fifth year, the program has received a grant from the Kirkpatrick Foundation and is available for syndication in any part of the world.
